Congratulations Oceania: 45 submissions competing in the AIPS Sport Media Awards 2020

LAUSANNE, January 9, 2021 - Oceania increased its participation in AIPS Sport Media Awards 2020, presenting 45 submissions, four more than the last edition.

Australia proved to be by large the most present country with 33 submissions, followed by New Zealand.

The third edition of the AIPS Sport Media Awards amassed a record of 1871 submissions (in 34 different languages) coming from 129 different countries.

With all continents represented, this edition highlights the remarkable resilience and importance of sports journalism amid the coronavirus pandemic, touching on local and international stories that dominated headlines between October 2019 and November 2020.

The AIPS Sport Media Awards team would like to thank all participants for their interest in these difficult times. Certificates were sent to all participants a few weeks after the submissions deadline.

Remember, each participant could present a maximum of two in the same or in two different categories. The same name will appear just one time if two submissions were made in the same category (names signalled with *), while it will appear twice if the author submitted in two different categories.
