AQUATICS
  • Patrick B. Kraemer / Magicpbk, EPA, Keystone

As a former swimmer, Patrick Kraemer feels a strong connection to aquatic sports. He admits that every year it gets harder to find a new angle having followed and covered these sports for several decades. However, the photographs in his portfolio are proof that it is still possible. With his underwater camera, Kraemer is able to, in a spectacular way, show his audience an angle they normally do not see. It gives him so much satisfaction when going through the collection in which he, among other fascinating things, explores the contrasts in the picture of the swimmer who glides underwater after the start; the tense muscles, the moment of calm when gliding, and the circles on the surface of the water. Then in a few moment, the silence gives way to pure action again.
