After Juan Raul Arboleda learned about Venezuelan Alfonso Mendoza aka "Alca", he resolved to know him and understand his life. Mendoza is a migrant, who left his country with nothing but a skateboard - this being his legs. He came to Colombia to survive with his family, and does all kinds of extreme sports, besides singing rap on buses to get money for food and the rent of his humble room. According to Arboleda, spending time with Mendoza made him realize that every moment is an opportunity to learn that “limits are in our minds”. This piece of photography is to show the world that there are people who struggle everyday in unthinkable conditions, but still teach us great lessons in life. So indeed, “you set the limits!”
