The Greenlandic Championship is the shortest football season in the world. Due to bad weather conditions and distances of the teams, the football season is played during one week in the middle of the summer. After a year of major political threats from the USA, the world's shortest football season started as usual. More than 10 percent of the population play football in Greenland. The coach Morten Rutkjaer explains that the country is not yet welcome in any football association, and for that reason they can not compete or play against other nations, nor to be a part of qualifications for the World Cup. The players in Greenland fight for the harpun medals in the championship and for future goals, to be recognized as a football nation.
