Celebrating sports history / Menotti, that poetic legacy - Revisit Acción
A look at the figure of César Luis Menotti, Argentina's champion coach at the 1978 World Cup, who died in May 2024. With his words and his work, he asserted that football belongs to the people because it forges enormous identities. He questioned the idea that you have to win at all costs and posited that the means are as important as the ends. In doing so, he transformed the history of the sport in his country and set in motion a path in which many of his imprints are evident. Both his players and his colleagues consider him a master. And his legacy, which goes beyond Argentina, is as defining as it is beautiful.
